Can I use the skating rink if I don't have a hotel booking?
Yes, skating sessions are open to the general public. Everyone is welcome to book and experience an ice-skating session.
How do I access the rink?
We are located on the same grounds as Fairmont Resort. Entry to the Blue Mountains Ice Skating Rink is via the ramp at the end of car park level 2. Best parking is in levels 2-4.
Do I need to pre-book?
Online bookings are preferred, as we have set times with a capacity on visitors per session. Peak times will be weekends and school holidays. Bookings can be made via the below link:

What is the size of the ice?
The ice is 25m x 22m, just shy of 600sqm. This is approximately 1/3 of an Olympic sized rink.
What is the temperature in the rink?
The ambient room temperature will fluctuate with the seasons but usually remains below 15 degrees Celsius.
Can I spectate others on the ice?
Spectators accompanying skaters are welcome to sit on the outside of the rink free of charge. Children under 16 years old require active adult supervision.
Is there parking available on site?
Ice Rink guests have complimentary 2-hours parking on site. Please validate your parking at the Ice Rink boot hire desk before departure via QR code registration. On weekends and public holidays, you may need to allow extra time for parking. The best parking for the ice rink is on levels 2 & 3.
Where can I find accessible parking and Wheelchair access?
Accessible parking is available at the main lobby entrance, wheelchair access is via the main lobby, please let concierge know when you arrive and they can assist with entry.
What should I bring?
We suggest dressing in layers of flexible form-fitting clothing, such as activewear. Please bring socks - these must be worn with hire skates. Long pants are recommended to protect your legs from falling on rough ice. Please note, you cannot bring your personal items onto the ice with you, including items of value such as handbags or phones, which are recommended to remain in the car, or your hotel room safe.
I am a beginner, can I skate?
Ice Skating can be a tricky skill to master, however the team are equipped with some handy hints and tricks to get you feeling confident to have some fun. Penguin hire is available for $5; these act as an aid for beginners to gain confidence with their balance. Entry to the rink also includes complimentary use of a safety helmet.
I am a proficient skater, is there a specific session time where I can practice my skills?
All our sessions are currently open to the general public; however, some sessions will be quieter than others. Our peak times are weekends and school holidays. You are welcome to give us a call to check session capacity.
Are skating lessons available?
We have a number of lesson options available, both in group and private settings.
Our regular Learn2Skate program runs during the NSW school terms on Sundays, from 4pm.
Please feel free to talk to the crew with any questions about what lesson structure might suit you best.
Can I purchase food and drinks?
Our Ice Rink Kiosk has a selection of snacks and drinks available, including espresso coffee.
Lara's, and Sublime Café in the hotel lobby are also nearby for more food and drink options.
Are Birthday Parties available?
We have two party packages to choose from and a dedicated party room available for hire. Please send us an email if you are interested in hosting a party at Blue Mountains Ice skating Rink.
Can I book out the entire rink?
Groups over 30 are classed as a group booking that should be handed over to our sales and events team. The rink can be booked exclusively for guest numbers from 30-200 at an additional fee, also via our sales and marketing team. Please enquire within.
Can I bring my own skates?
Yes, personal skates can be used if they are in good condition. Skate hire is available for those without their own skates at no extra charge.
Can I play Ice Hockey at the rink?
Unfortunately, we are currently not equipped for ice hockey games or drills of any kind.

Do you offer skate sharpening service?
We are able to offer skate sharpening for hockey style blades. The cost is $15 per pair.
